RYA Power Boat Courses
From time to time the club will arrange RYA Power Boat Level 2 courses for members. For more inforamtion click on the heading below.
The aim of this course is to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. Minimum Age 12: 12 to 16 year olds will receive a Level 2 certificate which will be endorsed: "The holder should only use powered craft under the supervision of a responsible adult."

Effects of current or tide. High and low speed manoeuvring. Propellor controls. Securing to a buoy. Anchoring. Leaving and coming alongside. Man overboard. |

Types of craft and engine. Maintenance checks. IRPCS. Weather forecasts. Emergency action. |
Courses are usually run over a weekend: Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 5.00pm.
