Welcome to the 2010 season which, since changing the membership year, now starts with the "Spring" series in April and ends with the "Shropshire Shiverer" series in March 2011! A full programme of events has been put together to provide training, racing, entertainment and social events and I hope that you will all be able to make full use of the club during 2010 and I take this opportunity of wishing you a most pleasurable sailing season.
   Proposals for the new clubhouse are pushing forward. A very well presented bid was submitted to Sports England but unfortunately was rejected for technical reasons. The team working on the new clubhouse project are continuing with the proposal and hope over the coming months to have all aspects in place ready for the submission of a second bid.
   "Dutyman" is working well and the majority of members have fulfilled the duties allocated to them. It is proposed to maintain and expand this system so please try and ensure that you attend on your duty dates. This year we will not be publishing duties in the programme - the club will be fully on-line!
   If at any time you feel that the club can be improved in any way do feel free to make your suggestion to any committee member. Remember this club is your club.
   Let us hope for a better - sunny, windy and warm - summer during 2010 when we can all get together at the club, enjoy sailing, the pleasure of each other's company and hopefully have many opportunities for BBQ's. Looking forward to seeing you during 2010. All the best.
