Dinghy Classes

There are many dinghy classes sailed in the UK but racing against other boats of the same design is more fun and class members can provide mutual support as well as a common interest. At SSC the larger classes have a Fleet Captain who may organise coaching and social events during the year. The club's preferred adult classes are Flying Fifteen, Solo, Laser, Laser Radial and 2000 (previously known as the Laser 2000). Preferred junior/youth classes are RS Feva, Laser Radial, Topper and Laser Pico.

We encourage all members who may be thinking of purchasing their own boat to consider one from the preferred class list first. Links to Class Association websites can be found below. A good place to look for second hand boats is Apollo Duck.
